The Church-led Abortion Petition Drive The South Dakota Family Policy Council has been honored to lead the Church-led Abortion Petition Drive across South Dakota for VoteYesForLife.com. This has been an incredible team effort of denominations ranging from: Assemblies of God to ELCA Lutheran, Baptist and Wesleyan to Roman Catholic, Church of God and United Methodist to many others, including Non-Denominational Christian churches. We've been blessed to see all Christian denominations included! Praise Him for Unity in the Body of Christ!Thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving with you on this team! The Numbers! · FOUR HUNDRED packets mailed from SDFPC to church coordinator volunteers. · Estimated FIVE HUNDRED churches across South Dakota had some role of involvement in the Abortion Petition Initiative. · The result 16,500 signatures in just twelve weeks is evidence the Body of Christ responded! The better news, for those looking for the Body of Christ to be involved, is that this number doesn't include the West River and Sioux Falls Catholic Diocese churches that reported directly into VoteYesForLife.com. The two dioceses reach several hundred thousand people in approximately 250 parishes! THE BODY OF CHRIST IS RESPONDING! We express our appreciation to both Bishop Cupich and Bishop Swain for their leadership and support of the Abortion Petition Initiative. Very special thanks to our staff. Directing the church-led effort was our Statewide Grassroots Director, Dave DeVries. The support staff included: Arlene Bauder, Lynne St. Angelo, Ewald Ulmer, Carrie Sanchez, Dale Bartscher, and Chris Hupke. A special thanks to our Board Members for their involvement!
